Fashion Week for the Rest of Us
new Chanel bag As New York Fashion Week is coming to an end , to relax in the fashion world of bubbles , two weeks after the hangover , dizziness and follow the preparations for the next round. From the outside , it may seem glamorous , fabulous, circus colors , signs and bridges, but in my opinion , the fashion week for the rest of us (and the rest of us I mean those of us who don 't get it working or live ) will be summarized in three observations / basic questions:
First Wow, they are lean.
I attended five shows this NYFW and I saw the cover on Vogue , Vanity Fair, BuzzFeed , Refinery 29 and the Daily Beast , I continue on , most models to be thin as enthusiastic. I know some people are just thin. I understand. But there's a skinny "Scream " mask hollow cheeks between the lean of thinness . What is beyond me why this look is considered the " look " of many designers . I know, I know , fashion is not about reality , they are on the pattern. The models are very large, very little wear and is to give them a great look. So be it , but they just look hungry!
Second Is this really necessary ?
You remember in high school , when Halloween was girls the opportunity to dress in lingerie like a dress without the effects of being a " bitch " ? Fashion Week and the fact that for people who want the opportunity to dress absurd and can not be seen as absurd ... and I love it. During Fashion Week, I see people take their auras to another level ! Literally and figuratively. In an attempt to get noticed, the woodwork Ninja beats all hair color, incredibly expensive shoe and handbag accessories and abfab stupid to reveal men in dresses and nipples. Oh nipples. During Fashion Week, is simply no longer mean NSFW . It is " yes I work it!" And this year, I saw enough to make Madonna blush areolas 1990. It's all in fun and if I like fabulousness chaos. However, it is when the going is at a different level on the figurative side of things , I find myself more want to scatter the ashes of some people to mountain village. It 's unfortunate, but some people take Fashion Week to , rather than their inner hoe hanging like the Halloween party be secondary that time of year , they left their hiding place in the asshole parties raised fashionista. This is not nearly as sexy. Contrary to popular belief are also style, fashion and fabulousness not too smelly, arrogant and self-glorification . I am both in awe and confusion , some of the people I meet during fashion week , which always causes whispers to me or anyone in earshot , " Is this really necessary ? " It's Fashion Week, yes, it was absolutely necessary for the person to wear all red vinyl as each menstrual walk and wear shoes in the form of kittens. 3rd I think White is the new black again when it comes to models .
Not really. What? There are so few black models , it is downright disrespectful at this point. But sistas still scrambling to get in the doors and the front rows of fashion shows and do more to keep their bodies in clothing , shoes and bags to get these lines with their performances send a clear message that they are simply not as nice looking black . I think some would say , "It's a question of aesthetics and uniformity " or " The clothes are exposed , not models so who cares . ? " Or my favorite: " There were not many black girls who came to audition . " Fashion Week is not an episode of" Girls " or " friends "I 'm ok there is not a black person in sight , because I sincerely believe that these characters are not coming into contact with so have no black friends . not in the case of Fashion Week , it feels wrong . Because they do not want us . Since it is not a fact a choice. if there is a black in a sea of white models look damn near identical, so there is clearly a choice. " Look, we're switching it up! As far as diversity of individuality , style and cruelty just the track , in this respect , I am to be elected by the creativity and ingenuity of clothing by the lack there who will be distracted her modeling.
